HR Decision Guide expands resources for HR-to-payroll handoffs
PRESS RELEASE · ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT: OCTOBER 23, 2026
HR Decision Guide has expanded its resources for the work between an HR decision and payroll processing. The collection includes a new employee-record guide, an updated benefits-deduction guide and an existing guide to temporary remote work in another state.
The guides focus on a practical distinction: an approved change is not the same as a completed payroll result. Readers can use the included templates to document instructions, supporting evidence, review responsibilities and unresolved next steps.
Three guides, three reusable templates
Employee Record Continuity Sheet. The employee payroll records guide follows hires, changes, departures and returns. Its template compares the expected employment record with the state visible to payroll, while keeping outstanding payments and follow-through separate from employment status.
Deduction Launch Card. The benefits deduction setup guide connects the approved election, coverage period, collection schedule and expected payroll behavior. Its card records preview evidence, the actual deduction and remaining settlement questions, rather than treating a configuration entry as proof of the outcome.
Temporary Work Window Log. The temporary remote-work guide separates permission to work from another state from the treatment payroll must apply. Its log records the planned window, reviewer decisions, processing evidence and actual return or extension. It records a qualified review; it does not calculate state taxes.
Each template is presented as copyable text within its guide. The guides are publicly available without a sign-up. Their worked examples are illustrative, not reported customer results.
